I finished another section of the fence today. This section turned out better that the first section, but I still have room for improvement. I'll be checking the levelness of the top rail on future sections because I've found that the string line level was close, but it wasn't as accurate as I want.
One of the things I did on this section was to instead of just trimming one picket so that it would fit in the final space, I split the difference across four pickets. So instead of having a 2 1/2" wide picket, I have four 3 1/4" wide pickets on the right hand side of this section. The change in width doesn't catch the eye nearly as much.
Monday is supposed to be a nice day so I'll try to stain some more pickets and maybe install them after my spouse gets home from work. I already installed six pickets on another section of fence today so that only leaves seventeen more. Plus the top cap and fascia board.
